HEALTHY LIFESTYLES' CRITERIA

A study has defined that there are only few people who meet the criteria of healthy lifestyles (Kathleen; MPH; RD LD, n.d). According to Danial, MS and RD (2019), even though people have heard and read the articles about healthy lifestyles, they still ignore it due to some reasons. These reasons include that people do not hear about the things that they do not like, people give up on the things that they want to do, people will always complain that they are busy every time and others (Luciani, 2012). Due to these reasons, it makes them become far away with healthy lifestyles. It can be said that it is easier and gratifying to dismiss it, but it may have the effect to the long term implication of continuously ignoring it (Danial;MS;RD, 2019). Therefore, we must maintain it through the criteria of healthy lifestyles.
What is Healthy Lifestyle?
According to the World Health Organization (1999), a healthy lifestyle means a good living style that gives the individuals to lower the risk of being seriously sick or dying early. Besides, this type of lifestyle also gives an opportunity to them to enjoy more aspects of life (World Health Organization, 1999). It means that people do not need to worry too much about their health when they want to do some exciting activities such as parachute jumping. Therefore, a healthy lifestyle can bring a lot of benefit to people to create a meaningful life.
How to Achieve a Healthy Life?
1. Get enough quality sleep
A good quality sleep is very important to our health. According to Leech (2020), a good sleep can improve concentration and productivity because some aspects of brain functions need an individual to get enough sleep such as memories and critical thinking. When people get enough sleep, he or she can show successful problem-solving skills with their critical thinking. Besides, sleep can help an individual to repair their immune functions (Leech,2020). Without quality sleep, the immune system will be difficult to function successfully. This will make the individual easy to get sick and affect their health.
2. Eat a healthy diet
The quality of life and health mostly are affected by the food that we eat. Each meal and snack that we consume always will impact an individual’s health directly (Patel, 2018). For example, eating a healthy diet can help an individual to reduce the chance of developing heart diseases, obesity, cancers and other serious diseases (Mawer, 2016). With balanced calories and energy health, people can perform well every time.
3. Manage stress
When an individual is a highly stressed person, it is difficult for him or her to perform well. This excessed stress will lead to poor health outcomes such as headaches and digestion problems (Scott, 2020). When the individual does not manage their stress properly, they will fall into the trouble that he or she will face depression. Due to this, it will make their health become poor. Therefore, it is important for an individual to manage stress well from time to time.
4. Drink Water

Water is very vital to each and every individual. Without water, individuals cannot live well. It means that each individual’s body is made of 60 percent of water (Mclntosh, 2018). This is because our body always needs water to function such as kidneys and other bodily functions (Cross, 2018). For the individuals who always want to keep beauty, water is important to them. This is because water can help them to avoid skin disorder and wrinkling. According to Cross(2018), water also can help to deliver the oxygen into our body. This is because 90 percent of blood is made by water, thus it can help to deliver the oxygen to other parts of the body which is used to maintain the body's health. Therefore, each and every individual must drink a lot of water everyday so that we can always keep our health well.
5. Physical Exercise

Physical exercises regularly must be done at least three times in one week. This is because it can help people to maintain their healthy lifestyle. Physical exercise can give a lot of benefits. For example, physical exercise can help people to control their weight (Mayo, 2019). This is because it can help people to burn the excess calories in their bodies. Besides, physical exercise also can help to improve cognitive function and helps lower the risk of death from all causes (Mayo,2019). It means that exercise can help the individuals to lower the chance of getting diseases such as stroke, high blood pressure and so on.
